India wants to maintain stable relationship with Bangladesh: Verma

Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma today said Delhi wants to maintain constant stable constructive relationship with Bangladesh.
"We are willing to engage with the interim government of Bangladesh," he told reporters after being summoned by the Bangladesh's foreign affairs ministry.
The Indian high commissioner was summoned by acting foreign secretary Reaz Hamidullah on the issue occurred at the Bangladesh assistant high commission in Agartala on Monday.
After emerging from the meeting at the foreign ministry, the envoy said that India is interested to work with Bangladesh government to fulfill the two countries shared aspiration for peace, security and development.
The envoy described the relationship between the two countries as "multifaceted and wide-ranging," mentioning that they cannot sit with one issue or agenda.
He also said there are many interdependencies and want to build on that for mutual benefits.
Earlier, foreign adviser Md Touhid Hossain told BSS that Verma had been asked to come at the foreign ministry.
