Foreign Secretary leaves for USA tonight

Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin is set to leave Dhaka on Sunday (Night) for a week-long official visit to the United States of America (USA) with an aim at strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors.

A senior official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this to BSS this evening that the Foreign Secretary will depart shortly after midnight. 

His visit will cover both Washington, D.C., and New York.

In Washington, Jashim Uddin will meet with senior officials from the U.S. Department of State and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). 

In New York, he is scheduled to hold talks with United Nations officials, as well as representatives from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
