The main Eid-ul-Fitr prayer was held at the National Eidgah at 8:30am today in a festive spirit.

Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, served as the imam while Muhammad Habibur Rahman, the muezzin of Baitul Mukarram, served as the qari.

Chief Adviser Professor Prof Muhammad Yunus was among the attendees at the 8:30am congregation. It was also attended by the chief justice, judges of the Supreme court and High Court division, members of the advisory council, political leaders, senior government officials, and diplomats from various Muslim countries. The chief adviser called for maintaining unity despite all adversities.

After the prayers, a special dua was held for the welfare, peace, and prosperity of the entire Muslim ummah, as well as the nation.

According to the Dhaka South City Corporation, the main tent at the National Eidgah accommodated approximately 35,000 worshippers. Separate arrangements were also made for women to offer their prayers at the Eidgah.
