Muslims across Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow (Monday) after a month of fasting.

The Shawwal moon was sighted on this evening, confirming the end of Ramadan. Thousands have already left Dhaka to celebrate Eid with their families in their village homes.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee.

Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain chaired the meeting.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus is set to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah grounds at 8:30am on Monday (March 31). He will later exchange Eid greetings with dignitaries at his office in Tejgaon, according to Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.
