Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has warned that Bangladesh's sovereignty would be at stake if people could not set aside their differences or stop slinging mud at each other.
Speaking at an event to mark the BDR carnage at Pilkhana in 2009, at the RAOWA Club in Dhaka, the army chief said, "If you cannot forget your differences and work together, if you engage in mudslinging and fighting, the independence and sovereignty of this country and nation will be at risk."
The four star general continued, "I am telling you today, otherwise you would have said that I did not caution you."
